What Is MAL Weekend?
Mid-Atlantic Leather Weekend is one of the largest annual gatherings of the leather, kink, fetish, and LGBTQ+ communities. Hosted by the Centaur Motorcycle Club, MAL brings together thousands of people from around the world to celebrate leather culture, brotherhood, and self-expression.
The weekend traces its roots back to the 1970s, when a small group of leather men began hosting an annual cocktail event. Over the decades, MAL has grown into a full-scale international weekend filled with social events, community connections, education, and celebration.
What Happens at MAL?
• Leather Cocktails: A signature, formal leather social that honors the history and traditions of the leather community.
• Mr. Mid-Atlantic Leather Contest: A major title competition held on Sunday, showcasing community leaders and ambassadors.
• Leather Exhibit Hall: Dozens of vendors offering leather gear, fetish wear, accessories, toys, and more.
• Social Events and Parties: Dances, bar nights, mixers, play spaces, and specialty fetish gatherings throughout the host hotel and across the city.
• Community Connection: Whether you are new to leather or a long-time member of the community, MAL offers a welcoming environment to meet others, learn, and celebrate who you are.

MAL is more than a party weekend …it is a cultural cornerstone for the leather and kink community. It provides space for education, visibility, authentic expression, and the celebration of our shared history. It brings together people of all identities and experience levels to connect in a safe, consensual, and affirming environment.
